Artificing is the craft of making jewelry, wands and caster staves. An Artificer can make rings, necklaces, totems, tomes, wands and staves (2h staff). Foraging and Mining will go best with Artificing.
As with most of the other professions, you can salvage some of the items you make. You get a chance on having some of the materials you used returned. Or you can get entirely new and different returned materials used in rarer recipes.
Some of the rarer recipes require planar dusts you receive from doing rifts and only from doing rifts. So be sure to save them for crafters folks! Put them up for sale in the auction house if you don't use them.
The below guide features recipes with the least (or least expensive) materials available. As you can skill up with both metal and wood based items, there may be an alternative that works better for you given the materials you have on hand.
TIP: Do the daily crafting quests to get the Artisan Marks you can buy new and rarer recipes with. Look for the vender in the crafting area of Meridian or Sanctum. As you skill up, the daily quests change to items at your skill level. You cannot redo lower level daily item quests, but the number of tokens you receive for doing these dailies increase as you get higher in skill level.
